Don't win a bike race, win at life! Coming to Omaruru for its second year, The Loskop Local is a weekend of trail (gravel, MTB) bike riding where riding is optional. Bring your kids. Bring your bikes if you want to. Bring your trail shoes if you'd prefer to run/hike. Your entry fee includes food, drinks, an event t-shirt and rider medal. Be sure to book your Omaruru accommodation well in advance.

Vegetarian or Gluten Intolerant dietary options will be available upon request, please tell us before 1 July 2024 by emailing admin@onguza.com

All participants will be required to sign an indemnity form upon registration, even if you're not riding. Please remember, your ticket is paying for food, drinks, coffees, and an awesome experience. Whether or not you ride is up to you.

What's new in 2024? Live music, Dinner & drinks on Saturday night, and t-shirts included as standard.

Ticket prices are VAT inclusive. Our Shopify operates in USD so you may see minor currency fluctuations in the NAD price. Please note, if you'd like to pay via PayToday or EFT in NAD, you'll receive instructions after checkout.

The Big Dinner

With sign-on and the open bar open from 4pm, please join us at Omuntu Gardens, Omaruru, for a festive first night kuier. A great chance to meet your fellow riders and place your bets on who is more likely to get bitten by a snake (please don't).

20 July 2024 - 7-11:30AM

Choose Your Own Adventure Loskop Ride

Riding is optional. Up to 65km of beautiful single track ranging in difficulty from flat and flowy, to technical, expert trails. The flower-petal route design brings you back to the coffee spot as many times as you'd like, making riding with different friends easy. Fun surprises welcome riders out on the trails. Families are welcome to hang out at the koppi all morning, please supervise your own small children.

As in 2023, there will be a Two Beards Coffee 'cafe' set up on the Omaruru Koppie, free for all event participants.

20 July 2024 - Noon-11pm

A Big Party 'til Late

Riders will be greeted back at Omuntu Gardens with a medal, savory snacks and an open bar. Smash burgers will be served all afternoon with live music and a late night supper for revelers. Event participants can come and go at their leisure. Yes, there will be ice cream again.

21 July 2024 - 7-12AM

Free Ride on the Farm

Un-supported, at your own risk, explore Loskop and Kakombo farms at your leisure. Security will be at the main gate. Be sure to take plenty of water, snacks, and repair tools. We don't want to rescue you but we will if we have to. Take a friend or share your location if you're worried.

Extension Ride: Omaruru to Swakopmund

From Sunday 21 July, there will be an invitation-only, semi-supported ride from Omaruru to Uis - Uis to Swakopmund over 2 or 3 days. If you'd like to join this, please email admin@onguza.com and indicate your interest in joining. Plans for this are still being worked out.
